Uninstall/reinstall Smilebox; get current version

Uma -

In order to successfully work with Smilebox, it is important to have the latest version. When you open Smilebox, it should update automatically. If it does not, please complete the steps below.

Please Note: This process will not affect your saved creations, as they are stored locally on your hard drive. However, any stored photos in your Photo Well and any designs in your My Designs tab will be cleared.

Step 1: Remove Smilebox from your system tray

Windows:

Along the lower right corner of your screen, you should see a Smilebox icon (you may need to click the up-facing arrow near the clock to see it). Right click on that Smilebox icon and then click 'Exit' in the menu list. (see below)

Mac:

If you have a Smilebox Tray Icon in your upper right corner menu: Click and select 'Quit' (see below).

Please check that the Smilebox icon is no longer in your tray. Once done, you can now uninstall the program.

Step 2: Uninstall Smilebox

Windows: Depending on your version of Windows, go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

Mac: Remove the Smilebox icon from your "Dock" simply by drag it out of the dock or into Trash. Also, be sure to remove the program from the applications and library folders.

For a step-by-step guide with screenshots, please see our article: How do I Uninstall Smilebox (Windows or MAC)?

Please Note: Uninstalling will clear out your 'Photo Well' and your 'My Designs' tab, but it will not affect any of your saved creations in 'My Creations', those are stored locally on your computer and you can re-save any sent/shared creations from http://my.smilebox.com.

Once done, please restart your computer.

Step 3: Reinstall Smilebox

To reinstall Smilebox, visit http://www.smilebox.com and click the Download Now button. Or, click here to begin installation

If you are still having trouble, please make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash. For more help, please see our article: Uninstall/reinstall Flash; get current version

Reinstalling the Smilebox program should automatically install a fresh copy of Flash that is compatible with the Smilebox program.
